Intermediate Windsurfing
Keep progressing, by getting more comfortable with equipment, tacking, jibing, and balance!
Our certified instructors will help raise your skill set from the introductory level. By learning to improve your stance, technique, and steering, you’ll be able to graduate to bigger sails and lighter boards.
The course includes all necessary equipment, including wetsuit (and a textbook, if applicable). Finishing the course prepares and qualifies you to enter the advanced class; where the real thrill of windsurfing can be experienced.
You'll learn the following skills:
- Intermediate/Longer-Term Handling of Long Board in Light Winds
- Equipment – Difference in Basic vs. Higher Performance Gear
- Safety – Hypothermia, Rigging Adjustments, Self Rescue
- Launching, Rules of the Road, High Wind Adjustments, and more…
Prerequisites: Successful completion of Intro Windsurfing course (or its equivalent). Students must be comfortable swimming and treading water.
Types of Classes:
We offer windsurfing courses for all levels of windsurfers. Whether it's your first time trying to stand on a board, or you're picking up some new skills after years of windsurfing, we have a class to fit your needs.
The group windsurfing classes on weekends are appropriate for ages 14 and up.
If you're interested, though, in sharpening your skills via private lessons, we offer those as well.
What to Bring
Students should bring comfortable clothes, a bathing suit to wear under the wetsuit, a jacket or fleece, a towel, lots of sun protection, a lanyard to secure their glasses around their heads, a reusable water bottle, and shoes or sandals that can be worn in the water (such as water shoes/aqua socks or Keen sandals).
Important: Please arrive 10-15 minutes before your class to check in.
